Olympic Marina, Lavrion
On the east side of the Attica peninsula Olympic Marina, about 1 nautical mile south of Lavrio on the grounds of the prestigious Olympic Marine Shipyard through its proximity to the international airport and the nearby Saronic Gulf makes a good alternative to the hectic Alimos Marina in Athens to break a cruise to the Cyclades or the Peloponnese. The marina is an ideal starting point for yacht charter sailing holidays.
Only 20 minutes from Athens International Airport, the new Lavrio Olympic Marina offers 680 permanent slips, a boat repair facility and many other services to incoming vessels.
The Olympic Marina is the only marina in all of Attica to be awarded a Blue Flag commendation and ISO 9001:2000 accreditation. Additionally, it provides a waste collection and management service for all of its moored boats.
This marina can accommodate boats of up to 32 metres, with a maximum depth of eight metres.
On the eastern part of the well-kept marina is the sanitary area with showers and toilets and on the northern pier fuel can be added at the local gas station. On the marina area you can find a small mini market, a restaurant and a bar. More shopping opportunities are in Lavrio town. There are several supermarkets, small grocery stores, bakeries and butchers close to the city harbor. A daily fish market and a weekly fruit and vegetable market complete the offer of the town.
Opposite to Lavrio port is the marina much quitter and yacht charter guests can sleep during the night.
